Volvo Cars established its first US plant in Ridgeville in 2016, employing around 1500 people. Since 2021, the plant also includes Volvo Car University and Volvo Car South Carolina Technical Center.
South Carolina’s top export to Sweden was waste and scrap of precious metal to a value of 55.8m USD. South Carolina also exported 2.7m USD of snowplows and snowblowers, and 1.2m USD of dog and cat food.
